Internacional security is more firmly rooted in the traditions of powers politics. Is about survival. The invocation of security has been the key to legitimizing the use of force. The invocation of security opens the way for a state to mobilize, or take special powers, to handle existential threats. Saying - "security" - a state declares an emergency condition, thus claiming a right to use whatever means are necessary to block a threatening development".

A propósito das constantes notícias sobre a Ucrânia-Rússia veiculadas quer na envolvente interna quer na externa, tenho lido e relido livros e documentos que tenho em arquivo e, entre eles, um longo artigo antigo  que analisa o tema "Security", e de onde retirei o texto supra. Interessante, creio eu, ao recordar o que se refere por aí da parte de Putin.
